Top 33 Pictures of GWT 2014

Special note:  I am the only judge of the top 33 pictures. I may like the pictures for various reasons (background, funny faces, capturing an awesome moment, etc). Perhaps I am bored and wanted to have another post. Perhaps I like doing top surveys. Perhaps I want to put some of the best pictures all in one spot. No matter my motivation for doing this, here are the top 33 pictures of our 33 day journey:

Our day started at something like 5:00am (hang with me because it's been a long day). At breakfast at Hardee's and a lunch at a food court capped our first part of the day. You may or may not believe it but most of The Crew chose to eat Chick-a-Fila. So much for Cajun food in Louisiana.

After arriving and checking in to our hotel in New Orleans, we walked to Bourbon Street with 50 some teenagers. You may have a question after this past statement and I have two responses that will probably satisfy all of your questions: it has been done multiple times before and everybody was safe, all the time!  At dinner we had a great Cajun meal and then celebrated with karaoke. The Crew took extensive pictures and loved every last minute they could spend with the people they have been with for 32 days.

We walked down Bourbon Street more and then to the Riverfront. After The Crew spent another hour enjoying each other's company, we marched back to the hotel. They received their instructions after midnight and were prepared for a 3:45am departure. I think I will have one more post for this years Grand Western Tour but if not, I'm signing off for the last time this year. It's been a pleasure and joy to chronicle our journeys via the blog. Hopefully you have felt part of some of the wonderful places and people we have met. We have been a family for over a month and tomorrow, this family will part ways (at least for the time being). Day 31: More of San Antonio

The Alamo

Chicken Crew

Hamburger Crew

Fuddruckers

Caricature of Lucy and Caroline

The Crew woke up to a Texas-style sun Monday morning. After having a later meeting time in the morning, The Crew meandered over to the IMAX theatre to watch The Alamo. Of course after watching the movie, The Crew walked across the street to the real Alamo. After today, The Crew will definitely remember the Alamo.

The Crew had much of the afternoon to get lunch in their groups and walk on the Riverwalk. Some members even felt like seeing themselves on paper by purchasing caricatures. We ventured across the street to Fuddruckers Monday evening, where The Crew either had hamburgers or chicken sandwiches. The burger was quite tasty.

Tuesday marks our last full day with the group and a long journey to New Orleans. We will have a very, very short stay at the hotel in New Orleans, as we will spend a great amount of time riding back on the bus. Be prepared mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles because your child will be home very soon. Signing off GWT!
