Day 13: Ranch Life

Thursday was possible the most unique day of the trip. I credit the uniqueness to The Crew not setting foot on a bus, shopping at a store, or being able to have cell phone service for much of the day. We were at the ranch all day!

The morning started with another hearty breakfast at the dining hall. The Crew then was split-up, half going on a trail hike and half going on a horse ride. After a few nervous Crew members were settled on the horses, they loved it! Some Crew members will never view horses the same. Members of the morning hiking crew were caked with both mud and a memorable march. After both groups finished, lunch was served.

The afternoon saw the groups flip-flopped. Some Crew members were so ecstatic during the hike, they simply layed in beds of dandelions. It is sufficient to say The Crew experienced a good ranch experience. Though I might ask for a full ranch experience next year:  cutting wood, putting up fences, feeding the horses, and scrapping up pies left by the horses. I doubt the future crew and others would go for it but hey, it's worth a shot.

The afternoon saw free time and dinner for The Crew. A lot of members completed laundry and some decided to fish. The weather once again did not cooperate fully, as we were unable to complete our volleyball tournament. However, each team played in 3 games and every team won a game! Lights out came early as we had an early start the next morning to white-water rafting. Signing off GWT!
