Day 6: Silverton and Durango Colorado with a train ride between

To the delight of all of The Crew, the bus headed out bright and early from Colorado Springs headed toward the Western town of Silverton.  Along the way, The Crew saw countless breathtaking scenes that to be quite frank, pictures do not do justice to.  From navigating through winding roads, valleys full of grass, rampaging river rapids at every turn, to the ever-constant, snow-capped Rocky Mountains always in sight, the ride was marvelous.  Perhaps the most scenic ride of the trip so far.  The Crew was highly appreciative of Clarence the bus driver, who for one kept us from falling off a cliff and for two navigated the roads like a true professional.  The Crew could not believe how awesome the Million Dollar Highway was!

When we parked the bus in Silverton, The Crew jumped off the bus to an old Western, dirt road town of Silverton.  They explored the city and ate at different restaurants, any food from Buffalo Burgers to Buffalo Chili.  As you can see, most of The Crew treated themselves to one of the various ice cream places.  Before loading the train for the 3.5 hour ride, The Crew wanted to take a picture (like they have not taken any pictures this whole trip!) in front of the train.

Everyone had outdoor seats on the train ride from Silverton to Colorado.  Once again, the scenes observed during the train ride were magnificent.  A few of the many scenes were captured and the pictures placed above.  No one fell out of the train and/or had to help the conductor put coal in the engine!

On our arrival in Durango, Colorado the Crew went in groups to dinner.  One member of The Crew expressed her need of a salad after the last few days but after talking with her after dinner, she ate Chinese food at a local restaurant!  What can I say. . . It's the trip of a lifetime!  The Older Mutant Ninja Chaperones (Glenn, Jeffrey, Molly, and Amber) tucked The Crew away to bed and explained the fascinating events that would take place the next day.  What a day!  If only The Crew knew how great and they had it.  Not everyone gets to experience the Rockies, especially like they have and will in the near future!  Signing off GWT!
