Big trees have big roots

Pictures do not do the trees justice.  But you can see how large the trees are with this picture.

Our day started just as every teenager's summer day starts:  5:30am departure.  Our final destination of the day was 8 hours away.  Today's venture saw us first traveling through the Redwoods of Oregon and Northern California.  The Crew jumped off the bus and explored the world of the unknown.  As you can tell by some of the pictures, the trees were enormous!

On our drive in to San Francisco, we obviously crossed over the Golden Gate Bridge.  The Crew was amazed at the length, size, and view possessed by the Bridge.  The Crew may or may not have figured out that they will be walking the Bridge tomorrow and seeing Alcatraz Island on Thursday.  Setting foot on land in San Francisco, The Crew quickly found out the San Francisco climate:  55 to 60 degrees, moist air, and windy.  Unloading luggage was quick today!

After our luggage was inside the hotel, we journeyed to one of the best fast food restaurants in the West:  In-N-Out Burger.  Each person received a #2 Combo Meal.  I did not hear any complaints over the food or the atmosphere!  The Crew members were allowed to go in groups of 6 for the next few hours to venture around Fisherman's Wharf.  Some of The Crew decided to head in a little earlier from curfew to do laundry.  We will be exploring San Francisco tomorrow more in-depth.  Signing off GWT!
