Our Day 28 journey started with a trip to the Desert Museum. We saw mountain lions, bears, deer, river otters, hummingbirds, and a wide variety of desert life. The Crew withstood the heat for an hour or so and then ventured inside to the air-conditioned exhibits. 100 degrees is not that hot at 10:00 am!
After we arrived at the resort, The Crew ate lunch and were given a vast amount of free time. Some chose to hang out by the pool, others played volleyball, and some guys and I went to the golf course. Tucson was a great place to slow down a bit from our travels, relax, and enjoy each other's company.
For dinner we gathered into a banquet room and devoured lasagna, vegetable casserole, and ice cream sundaes. To say this was a hit with The Crew would be an understatement. As I have found out for any occasion The Crew dresses up for, pictures followed the meal. Following the pictures, The Crew had extended free time by the pool. Several pool games were played as well as various songs on the portable speakers. Everyone enjoyed their time in Tucson. Now we are off to El Paso.
On somewhat of a side note, we are wanting to hear feedback on the blog. This year's format is somewhat new but including daily updates. We know that parents like to see pictures of their kids and kids love to see pictures of themselves. However we try to create a storyline of the events that happened during each day and to put you in the moment with the descriptions and photos. If you like the format or have suggestions for improvement, please share with Ken or someone from the trip. I try to have pictures of everyone in equal amounts but with over 50 kids, it is rather difficult to have equal pictures of everyone. I also know that some late nights I get tired and do not post the days events. I'm sorry but my excuse is that the staff has to look after the kids first and media comes second. Just like every post, I will end it with our closing phrase; Signing off GWT!
