Pink jail bars... Are we back in Davidson County?

It must be nice to have hair, waving in the wind!

Walking around the Oakland Coliseum before the game.

Liza gets the award for being around me most of the day... I think she likes the attention!

Celebrate an Oakland A's victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, 4 to 1.  Root, root, root for the home team if they don't won it's a shame...

It's not every morning you get to wake up and say you are thrilled to go to jail; but that's what we did. We marched, willingly, to one of the most well-known penitentiaries in the US: Alcatraz Island. We broke off in to groups of 6 or 7 and toured the island. Each member of The Crew wore a headset to provide a guided, walk-along 45 minute tour.  I will say that the I was thoroughly impressed with our groups attentiveness and enjoyment of the tour. I believe every single member of The Crew enjoyed Alcatraz.

The Crew then went about the city in groups of at least 6. We gave them specific instructions yesterday as well as today. I think most groups found shopping and the city to be an experience and one they both enjoyed and respected.

The afternoon was spent driving to Oakland (a feat in itself) and watching a baseball game in Oakland Coliseum. We made The Crew sit for the first 2 and last 3 innings in order for them to enjoy the game atmosphere. As soon as the last out in the second inning was recorded, there was a mass exodus of our kids to get food. Ooo well, they seemed to enjoy that experience as well. The Crew all enjoyed the last innings and an Athletics' victory. The bus ride back was a lot less hectic and time consuming. The bus pulled in to the hotel to see a cap to a great day and a transition to an early start in the morning. More of California will be seen tomorrow and bye bye San Francisco. Signing off GWT!
